This picture envisions the busy scene at this famous Pagoda Anchorage. The Thermopylae is shown in the foreground in a scene of activity, the junks and floating godowns coming alongside with tea, the sampans each with the half-naked Celestial keeping a discreet distance, eagerly awaiting a fare shoreward. Comes the hour when the last chest is duly stowed and the run home commences.
